Terms of service
Last updated: October 2026 · Questions: support@runmyshop.ai
These terms are an agreement between you, the business that signs up ("you"), and Kitchener AI ("we", "us"), the operator of RunMyShop. By creating an account you accept them. If you are signing up for a company, you confirm you may bind it.
1. The service
RunMyShop is an AI receptionist: software that answers calls to a phone number we provide, speaks with callers, takes messages, and, depending on your plan and settings, books appointments, sends text messages and puts callers through to you or your team. It introduces itself to callers as an AI assistant. We may change or improve the service over time; we will not remove a feature your plan includes without notice.
2. Your account
- Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else is using it.
- Give accurate business details. The receptionist tells callers what you tell her; you are responsible for the hours, prices, services and other facts you provide.
- You are responsible for the people you add as team members and for having their permission to receive calls, texts and emails from the service.
3. Free trial, plans and billing
- New accounts start with a 14-day free trial that begins when your receptionist goes live. A card is required to start it; nothing is charged until the trial ends. The trial includes 60 minutes of calls; past that the receptionist takes messages only until the subscription starts.
- After the trial, the subscription is billed monthly in advance at the price shown on our pricing page at the time you subscribe ($29.95 CAD and up). Prices exclude applicable taxes.
- Each plan includes a monthly allowance of call minutes. Past the allowance the receptionist keeps answering in full up to twice that allowance, then takes messages only until the next billing period or an upgrade. We do not charge per-minute overage without telling you first.
- You can change your plan, update your card or cancel at any time from the billing portal on your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for; we do not refund partial months.
- If a payment fails we will try again and tell you. If it keeps failing, the receptionist pauses with a polite notice to callers until billing is sorted out.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email; a change applies from your next billing period after the notice.
4. Your phone number
We assign your receptionist a local phone number from our pool and keep it registered to your account while your subscription is active. The number stays ours; it is released back to the pool after your account is closed. If you want calls to your existing business line answered, you point that line at your receptionist's number with your own phone provider.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to break the law, to harass or deceive callers, to send unsolicited marketing texts, to impersonate another business, or to probe, disrupt or overload our systems. We may suspend an account that does.
6. Calls, recordings and the law
- Calls are transcribed so the receptionist can work and so you can read what was said. Audio recording is a setting you control and is off by default.
- You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your business's calls, including telling callers that calls may be recorded where required, and for how you use callers' information afterwards. Our privacy policy explains how we handle it.
- The service is not a substitute for emergency services. It cannot place emergency calls and should not be relied on for emergencies.
7. What the AI can and cannot promise
The receptionist is software that understands speech and generates replies. It is good, and it is not perfect: it can mishear a name or number, misunderstand a request, or make a mistake in a booking. You should check messages and appointments on your dashboard and treat them as you would notes from a new staff member. We do not guarantee that every call will be answered, understood or handled correctly, or that the service will be available without interruption.
8. Our content and yours
The service, its software, voices, designs and pages are ours or our licensors'. The business details, knowledge and content you add stay yours; you give us the right to use them to provide the service to you. Call transcripts, messages and appointments created for your account are yours to export and use.
9. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or end the service for a breach of these terms, for non-payment, or if the law or a provider we depend on requires it, with notice where we reasonably can. When the agreement ends, the phone number is released and your data is handled as the privacy policy describes.
10. Disclaimers and limits on liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties not stated in these terms, and our total liability to you for anything arising out of the service in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for lost business, lost profits, missed calls or bookings, or indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and disputes are heard by the courts there, unless the law where you are gives you other rights that cannot be waived.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its date and, for significant changes, email you at least two weeks before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms.
